Ukrainian baritone Yuriy Yurchuk will appear on Royal Opera stage in 2015/16 season. His first appearance will be on 9.01-5.02.2016 as Angelotti in Puccini’s Tosca.  He will also appear as Blazes (Lighthouse), Barone (La Traviata) and Johann (Werther), as well as cover Alfio (Cavaleria Rusticana), Shekalov (Boris Godunov) and Creon (Oedipe) later in 2016. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Yuriy discovered his passion for opera after coming to Chicago and meeting professor Marc Alon Embree. He studied Vocal Performance Masters program at DePaul University School of Music. He also holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in finance and accounting from Kyiv National Economic University. Before embarking on a career as a singer he was a mergers & acquisitions consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers for seven years.
