29th International Lobanovskiy Cup
On Sunday, 2 June 2019, the football fields Powerleague Barking will host a traditional football mini-football tournament in London. This international tournament became popular among the teams from the Eastern European countries. The competition itself is dedicated to one of the most remarkable persons in football – Valeriy Lobanovskiy.
How does this tournament differ from others?
Firstly, this tournament became the main football event in London among the Eastern European players and teams. Secondly, the number of participating teams is growing every year. International teams from abroad travel to the UK to participate in the tournament. And, thirdly, as always the winner of the tournament get a valuable and unusual prize. The organisers keep this award in secret until the last moment.
Format of the Football Tournament
The winner of the tournament will be decided just in one day, and this format has been very well tested during the previous tournaments. The teams will be divided into groups for initial round-robin tournament and then play-off matches will be held under the Olympic system.
Tense moments, unpredictable results, beautiful goals and fair play will be the part of the full-day competition. Traditionally, at the end of the day a cultural part of the event will start. “Lobanovsky Cup” is not only about football. It promotes friendship and cultural diversity uniting different people and nations of from various parts of the world.
Prizes and Entertainments
Awards, prizes and surprises from organizers and sponsors will be prepared for the supporters, teams and players of the tournament. The entertainment programme for the guests will include perfomances from artists and singers, DJ sets, non-stop dancing, lottery (with lots of different prizes and gifts), auction, shop with souvenirs and traditional hot food and refreshments.
