The British composer originally from Ukraine Evelina De Lain (Pronska) will be performing her latest album “Soul Journey” – a unique mix of classical structure and jazz harmonies, accompanied by a full Chamber Ensemble – Flute, Cello, Violin and Viola- on October 24th 2015 at Royal Over-seas League in London’s Mayfair.
The second half of the concert is dedicated to the interpretations of well known classics such as “Elvira Madigan”, “Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence”, “Cinema Paradiso”, “Sex and the City”, E.Doga’s Waltz from Soviet Film “My sweet and tender beast” and many more culminating in solo rendition of the virtuoso “Warsaw Concerto”.
About Evelina De Lain (Pronska)
Evelina De Lain (Evelina Pronska) was born in Zhovtie Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region to a respected music teacher Valentina Pronska and began learning piano at the local music school at the age of 5 years old. She later went to Dnipropetrovsk Music Conservatoire named after Glinka to study piano, chamber music and accompaniment with incredible teachers – Larisa Kopnina and Galina Vinogradova.
Selected competitions and awards:
– 4th place in the National Chopin Competition (Dnipropetrovsk, 1994).
– Silver Medal at the National Contemporary Composition Competition (Kiev, 1995).
– 1st Prize at the Conservatoire Chopin Competition with Chopin’s 1st Piano Concerto (Dnipropetrovsk,
1995).
Evelina has also become the youngest ballet accompanist at Dnipropetrovsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet at just 17 years old. She started studying jazz in her late teenage years and went on to eventually merge classical structure with jazz harmonies in creation of her own unique genre – Clazz. Evelina De Lain Trio (created in 2011) featuring Alisa Klimanska from Latvia on Flute and Alice Jones from Wales on Cello performs in UK and Europe frequently with classical and jazz unique arrangements and Evelina’s own contemporary classical compositions.
