The Battle for Ukraine: Leadership, Solidarity and Reforms
Two years since Russia annexed Crimea and began supporting armed separatism in the east of Ukraine, many questions still go unanswered. Does Ukraine do enough in terms of reforms to increase its resilience against internal and external challenges? Does Europe do enough to support those in favour of greater convergence with the EU?
President Petro Poroshenko will address these issues and offer his views on how to further consolidate reforms and democratic leadership inside Ukraine. He will also speak about the importance of international solidarity for restoring peace in Ukraine and reinforcing wider European security.
Chatham House has a special programme on Ukrainian reforms – Ukraine Forum. The programme has recently issued a Research Paper ‘Can Ukraine Achieve a Reform Breaktrhough’, co-authored by John Lough and Iryna Solonenko. Full text is available for downloading here.
