More About the Event

Join the screening of Line of Contact this October, with the leading actor Dani Ploeger.

‘War is hell, waiting is hell and war is waiting.’ Writer Lily Burana cuts to the core of the latest VR work by Dutch artist and activist Ploeger, who has over the last eight years covered the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in works like Frontline (2017). In the early days of fighting, he traveled to Mariupol, accompanying a group of Ukrainian soldiers and recording the seemingly endless waiting they had to endure. This footage has now been transformed into an overwhelming VR experience, presented on a custom-made headset. The device tracks the visitors’ eye movement, triggering an accompanying soundscape.
