The introduction of tobacco control policies in Ukraine has resulted in a 20% reduction in the number of smokers over the past seven years. This is largely due to multifaceted tobacco control legislation, including a 40% increase in tobacco taxes.
In the latest instalment of Imperial’s Global Health & Development lecture series, Dr Laura Webber (Director of Public Health Modelling at the UK Health Forum and Honorary Assistant Professor at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine) will present evidence that predicts the health and cost impacts of the implementation of tobacco excise tax increases in Ukraine.
The lecture will be chaired by Francis Ruiz from IGHI’s Global Health & Development team, with time for Q+A afterwards.
All welcome. Attendees must register a place in advance.
