London’s documentary cinema ‘Bertha DocHouse’ is inviting to the screening ofUkrainian Sheriffs. This excellent film won the Special Jury Award at IDFA (Documentary Festival in Amsterdam) and has now made its way to DocHouse’s screen for a season of docs called The Lives Of Others.
“In Stara Zburyevka, a sleepy blackwater village in Southern Ukraine, local sheriffs Viktor and Volodya are trying to keep the peace.”
This film is a tragicomic but insightful portrayal of a small town at a turning point in Ukraine’s history.
