KinoVino is beyond excited to partner up with the most vibrant and talented Ukrainian-born chef and food writer, Olia Hercules, in this special evening dedicated to cultural and gastronomic legacy of Ukraine. If you haven’t yet heard of The Guardian’s Rising Star of 2015, then simply google ‘Olia Hercules’ and be prepared to fall in love with her food and her charm. You can also catch her on some of the top-notch BBC food shows this summer. The evening will bring you a taster of the fiery spirits from Ukraine, like ‘horilka’, a screening of a very rare in the UK but a complete cult in the former Soviet Union film ‘Viy’ (1967), based on a short horror story by a classic Ukrainian writer, Nikolai Gogol. The evening will culminate with a lucious dinner of Ukrainian classics with a modren twist from Olia’s new cook bookMamushka. If I were you, I would not bother reading all this, and just book a ticket ASAP as this will sell out fast!

A word from Olia Hercules:

August 6th, I am doing a collab with KinoVino by @borsch_and_no_tears We will be showing you a Soviet cult horror, Viy, 1967 (If you love Sami Raimi, you will love this). And then we will feed you really well. And we will make you really drunk. Soviet witches and ghouls are ace enough but a good shot of vodka with a fermented tomato chaser makes if better.
