The Ukrainian Energy Day in London will provide a unique opportunity for key players in the Ukrainian energy sector to come together with their UK and international counterparts to outline progress being made in the reform of the sector and to highlight the commercial opportunities that are being created as Ukraine takes ambitious steps towards energy independence.

    Session 3: The Gas Transportation Sector, Its Unbundling And Modernisation And The Commercial Opportunities Being Created

    • The liberalisation of the gas market, reverse supplies from the EU and the opportunities for international traders and energy companies;
    • An overview of the Ukrainian gas market, consumption forecasts and tariff structures. Where the opportunities exist for international energy companies to participate and experiences to date;
    • Reform of the management structure of the gas storage and transportation infrastructure as a key condition to create a major regional energy hub;
    • Progress report on establishing the new GTS operator and negotiations with potential investors;
    • The unbundling of the transmission and distribution system operators and the creation of Main Gas Pipelines of Ukraine and Underground Storage Facilities of Ukraine. When will the transfer of assets and staff to the new independent and separate bodies take effect?
