Over the past 25 years the Ukrainian-Irish musician Pavlo Beznosiuk has established himself as an outstanding performer and one of Europe’s most respected baroque violinists, with an exciting international career as a soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster and director.
Being an associate of the Academy of Ancient Music, Pavlo is best known as a Musical Director of the Avison Ensemble, a key member of the ground-breaking medieval ensemble The New London Consort, and for his pioneering work in the use of renaissance violins with The Parley of Instruments back in 1980s.
“While the Partitas search for beauty, the Sonatas seem to search for meaning, and it is in the complex arguments of the C major and A minor Sonatas that Beznosiuk excels.”
“What emerges in Pavlo Beznosiuk’s supple performance with the Avison is music of immense suavity and elegance – from the enchanting Largo of the 6th, to the tender pastoral of the Christmas Concerto.”
“Pavlo Beznosiuk perfectly captures each sonata’s emotional character in performances that combine brilliant virtuosity with profound understanding of the music’s spiritual significance.”Telefraph
