Dash Arts and the EBRD Cultural Programme invites you to an evening of classic silent film and live modern music.
“The Eleventh Year” was Ukrainian cinematographer Dziga Vertov’s homage to the Bolshevik revolution. Filmed in 1928, eleven years after the revolution (hence the title), it made cinematic history, with its innovative stylistic devices and complex, experimental editing. To accompany the film, Ukrainian musician Anton Baibakov has composed a new score which he will perform live with pianist Sofia Turk.
Join us on Thursday 17 September 2015 in the Auditorium for what promises to be an exciting evening of cinematic art and jazz music.
The performance will begin punctually at 18.00 – and will be preceded by light refreshments from 17.00. After the film and a brief conversation with the musicians, there will be a drinks reception in the coffee bar area.
