Programme:
The Ukrainians (UK)
Style-wise, The Ukrainians are an intoxicating cocktail of traditional Ukrainian music and Western Indie pop/rock. The tracks are raw, fresh and electrifying. Vodka-fuelled fiddles, accordion and mandolins interweave beautifully with powerful drums, driving bass and wonderfully zizzy electric guitars. Their cross-category appeal has meant that for 25 years they have wowed audiences at many hundreds of festivals throughout Europe and North America, including both Glastonbury and Womad in the UK
Tuhaj-bej (PL)
A well established, high energy, Ukrainian folk-rock band. They have performed at all major festivals in Poland and beyond.
Prypadok (PL)
The band Prypadok was formed in 2012. There are 4 people with similar roots and passion for slavonic traditional music. In the Prypadok’s repertoire a listener can find among others Lemko, Ukrainian and Slovak songs. As the group name suggest the band was created by fortuity. Their first performance took place on the Slavonic Music Competition in Wrocław. It supposed to be a one-time performance, but after winning that contest Prypadok decided to continue singing. Prypadok’s main instruments are voices, which are used to make the harmony.
