The New Safe Confinement, the structure that the NY Times called “an extraordinary feat of human ingenuity”, is EBRD’s largest and lengthiest project. This gripping, hour-long BBC documentary follows the construction of the 36,000-tonne steel structure which late last year entombed the ruins of the nuclear power plant destroyed in the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
After the film, director Martin Gorst will be joined on stage for a discussion with Nicolas Caille, project director at Novarka, the French construction consortium responsible for completing the project, and Vince Novak, Director of the EBRD Nuclear Safety Department.
Join us for a viewing of this extraordinary film, followed by what promises to be a fascinating discussion.
