Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Anna Starushkevych and a renowned pianist Lada Valesova are preparing a very special programme of Eastern European music, influenced by Jewish, Gypsy, Spanish, Chinese and Ukrainian culture.

The songs will be sung in Czech, Russian and Ukrainian. There will be English translation prepared for the audience to help follow some gorgeous poetry. Lada will also perform a couple of solo piano pieces.
In the programme: works by Dvorzak, Haas and Shostakovych, as well as Ukrainian composers – Nyzhankivsky, Kolessa and Lysenko. Some of the pieces were never performed in the UK before.
