Volodymyr Dubovyk is an Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations and Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Center for International Studies at Odesa Mechnikov National University, Ukraine.
He has graduated from the history department of the Odessa State University in 1992 and has received his Ph.D. (Candidate of Sciences) in political science/international relations from the same university in 1996. Volodymyr Dubovyk has remained with OSU (now ONU – Odessa National University) in various positions up to the present day.
He has had his fellowships at the Kennan Institute twice, also held internship at W. Wilson International Center for Scholars (RSEP), at the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM), University of Maryland (CI program). In 2011 Volodymyr taught a course for the Global Studies Program, University of Wroclaw, and in the first half of 2013, he delivered three courses for the H.J. Ellison Center, School of International Studies, University of Washington (Seattle).
Volodymyr Dubovyk was and still is a member of numerous international assosiations: the ISA (International Studies Association), CEE (Central and East European) ISA, ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research) SGIR (Standing Group on International Relations), PONARS Eurasia (New Approaches to Research and Security in Eurasia).
Among his teaching and research interests are U.S. foreign policy, U.S.- Ukraine relations, theory of international relations, Black Sea regional security, international conflict studies, foreign policy of Ukraine.
Calling all UK-based graduate students and early career researchers: Cambridge Ukrainian Studies is hosting a special workshop entitled ‘NATO, the United States and the Crisis in Ukraine’.
The workshop will take place on Monday, 25 January 2016 from 11am to 3pm at King’s College, Cambridge. For accepted workshop participants, costs for domestic economy train/coach travel to and from Cambridge will be reimbursed, and coffee and lunch provided.
The workshop will be conducted by one of Ukraine’s foremost International Relations experts, Professor Volodymyr Dubovyk, Director of the Centre for International Studies and Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations at I. Mechnikov National University in Odesa.
