Speakers bios
Artem Shevalev
Artem serves as an Alternative Board Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Ukraine, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Serbia, Moldova and Turkmenistan. He was recently appointed as a member of PrivatBank’s Supervisory Board. From March 2015 to May 2016 he was Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine for European Integration. He began his professional career as a diplomat and from 1998-2001 held the position of Third Secretary and Private Secretary to the Ambassador at the Embassy of Ukraine in London. After a three year stint as an advisor at the EBRD, he became Head of the Representative Office in London of JSC The State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine. He graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and has an Executive MBA from the London Business School.
Yuri Bender
Yuri is Editor-in-Chief of the Professional Wealth Management global magazine, website and events hub, leading the debate on how banks and financial centres can match client needs. He has reported from many countries including China, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia and Ukraine. He writes a column for the fund management section of the FT newspaper. He studied International Relations at Cambridge University and Investment Management at the London Business School.
