Mr Prime Minister, if you cant hear the explosions in Ukraine, listen to our songs and act before the Russians attack!
Evidence is mounting that Russia is directly involved in invasion of Ukraine. Thousands of Russian troops with tanks, heavy artillery and missiles are on Ukrainian soil, fighting against the Ukrainian army, destroying Ukrainian cities and killing civilians.
Now is the time for the UK government (as a guarantor of the Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity under the Budapest memorandum) to respond, not just with words, but with action that will demonstrate strength and resolve against Russia’s aggression. Appeasement of the aggressor is not an option; the history should have taught us that.
We urge the UK government to to supply defensive weapons to Ukraine in order to increase the Ukrainian army’s ability to defend against Russian attack and, by raising the costs of aggression, dissuade Moscow from further fighting.
We demand tougher Iran-style sanctions against Russia, including cutting Russia out of SWIFT banking system, and visa bans and asset freezes for the Russian oligarchs in London.
