Fedorova was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, into a family of musicians, and she began playing the piano at age five. She gave her first public recital when she was six, and she gave her national debut at the age of 7, at the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine. Since then she has claimed top prizes at numerous international piano competitions become world’s premier young pianist.
Critics have praised Anna’s signature “sweet modesty and wild expression,” which rendered listeners “completely taken by surprise, compelled and astonished.” In September 2013 Anna performed Rachmaninoff 2nd Piano Concerto at the opening of the season of Sunday Morning Concerts series at the Great hall of the Royal Concertgebouw. Within half a year, the recording of this concert received over 1,000,000 views on YouTube and was highly praised among renown musicians
On Monday, 16 February Anna is to perform at RCM Chamber Music Concert with Jamal Aliyev. RCM musicians deliver a selection of short works by Paganini, Bartók and Prokofiev before cellist Jamal Aliyev and pianist Anna Fedorova perform Shostakovich’s passionate Cello Sonata.
