The story of Ukraine’s Great Famine known as The Holodomor. This is the first attempt to tell the world a story of mass starvation of millions of Ukrainians in 1932-33 through brutal policies of collectivisation, initiated by Josef Stalin. The film, produced and directed by two Canadians of Ukrainian descent, Ian Ihnatowycz and George Mendelyuk, tells the story of a handsome Ukrainian couple, Yuri and Natalka, getting sucked into the horrors of collectivisation and famine and eventually escaping to the West.
