What: An evening of music aimed at helping those people who are displaced by the war in Ukraine. Specifically, those who are fleeing the conflict through the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

More About the Event

A classical music charitable concert. Hosted by the Sussex Classical Music Network.

An evening of artist-led classical music featuring performances by pianist Cristiana Achim, violinist Julia Loucks, and other musicians.

All proceeds from ticket sales go to causes aimed at supporting ongoing humanitarian efforts at the Ukrainian-Romanian border. These causes include the charity Hope and Homes. As well as a notable effort led by Loredana Musat (known to the organizers of this event). Loredana is in charge of organizing 24-tonne lorries packed with food, sanitary and medical supplies. Due to the great need for such supplies at the Ukrainian borders. All provisions are to be transported to Ukraine and affected Romanian border regions.

More About the Performers

Christiana Achim

A Bucharest-born Pianist. Cristiana studies at the Royal College of Music (BMus 4) in London under the tutelage of Nigel Clayton.

She is a winner of numerous international music competitions. Cristiana has most recently been awarded the Special Prize ‘Debut in Transylvania’ at the ‘Youth of Music 2021 International Competition’ (Romania) with a Recital Award. Moreover, she was awarded the second prize at the ‘Orbetello International Piano Competition 2021 edition’ (Italy). Also, she is generously supported by the Talent Unlimited project.

Julia Loucks

A Canadian-born Violinist. Julia moved to London to pursue her postgraduate studies with Itzhak Rashkovksy and Laura Samuel at the Royal College of Music. Furthermore, she was appointed Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Welsh National Opera orchestra in 2017. She has similarly appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player in London, Switzerland, France, Austria, Germany, and Canada. As well as cities throughout England and Wales.
