Our first event is called Prospect talks: Ukraine—Voices from the Nation, where we will hear from Ukrainians affected by the war both inside and outside the country. A drinks reception will follow the discussion.

Dr Olesya Khromeychuk
Olesya is a historian and writer. She is currently the Director of the Ukrainian Institute London. She has taught the history of east-central Europe at several British universities. Khromeychuk is the author of A Loss. The Story of a Dead Soldier Told by His Sister (2021) and “Undetermined” Ukrainians. Post-War Narratives of the Waffen SS “Galicia” Division (2013). Olesya runs a theatre company, Molodyi Teatr London, that stages documentary pieces exploring social and political themes, including the war in eastern Ukraine.
Sevgil Musaieva
Sevgil is a Ukrainian journalist from Crimea and Editor in Chief of Ukrayinska Pravda. She began her career in 2007 as a business reporter, specialising in oligarchy-related investigations, as well as reporting on corruption within the oil and gas industry. She worked as a journalist for agencies, newspapers and publications, including Forbes Ukraine.
Sevgil has co-authored a book about the leader of the Crimean Tatar people. She is a five-time winner of the “Presszvanie,” a prize given to the best economic journalists in Ukraine, and has been awarded the Anthony Moskalenko Memorial Award for “contribution to the development of Ukrainian journalism.”
All profits from this event will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal).
